VISIT TO GHANA Posted on 28 Sep 2016  |  Website

The Group who visited Kwahu Presbytery in Ghana have now returned home. Due to virtually non-existent internet access, regular updates were not possible. Suffice it to say for now that the visit was thought-provoking and exciting, and there is much to reflect upon before the Group reports to the World Mission Committee and through them to Presbytery in November. The adjacent picture shows the Moderator, the Clerk, and the Clerk of Kwahu Presbytery (Ernest) with a number of children from the Ebenezer congregation in the Abetifi district.

Hamilton Presbyterial Councils Posted on 27 Sep 2016  |  The Guild

“The Church of Scotland Guild is a movement which invites and encourages women and men to commit their lives to Jesus Christ and enables them to express their faith in Worship, Prayer and Action.”

Members meet in local groups at congregational level, in regional groups known as Presbyterial Councils, and once a year a national gathering is held, to which each group can send representatives. The Hamilton Presbyterial Councils plan and arrange joint meetings for members of all local Guild branches within Hamilton Presbytery. All planned events for 2016/2017 have been published on the Presbytery calendar.

PRESBYTERY VISIT TO GHANA Posted on 15 Sep 2016  |  Website

ALL SET TO GO!

Preparations are now complete, and tomorrow morning, bright and early, five representatives of Hamilton Presbytery head for Kwahu, Ghana, to further our twinning link with the Presbytery there. The team will be led by Peter Chirnside, Convener of the Presbytery’s World Church Committee, and along with him the Moderator, the Rev. Gavin Black, the Clerk, Rev. Dr. Gordon A McCracken, Mrs. Jess McCracken, and Mr. Stuart McGowan. The visit, over the course of ten days, will see the team visit churches, schools and youth organisations as well as community events. Congregations within the Presbytery are invited to pray for the group and for the success of the visit.

The adjacent photograph show some of the gifts being taken out, along with educational and craft materials for schools and youth organisations.

The Church of Scotland Presbytery of Hamilton is a charity registered in Scotland No: SC048680.
